The 18-hole, par-72 championship course is set in a picturesque parkland environment, featuring tree-lined fairways and strategically placed bunkers. The back nine underwent a complete redesign by renowned architect Greg Turner, enhancing the course's challenge and appeal. With a variety of tees, the course caters to players of all skill levels, ensuring an enjoyable round for everyone.

By offering five sets of tees, the course accommodates players from beginners to seasoned professionals. This flexibility allows golfers to tailor their experience, ensuring both enjoyment and challenge. Strategic bunkering and water hazards, particularly on holes 6 and 7, require precision and thoughtful shot-making.

The course is known for its beautifully maintained fairways and greens, which are lined with avenues of stately trees, including pines and oaks. The course's design incorporates natural elements, with creeks and water hazards adding both beauty and challenge. Birdlife, including ducks and Canadian geese, enhances the serene parkland setting, making each round a delightful experience.

The course has hosted the NZ Open and many of New Zealand’s leading amateur events. While sited across flat land, the course is a true test of golf but still extremely playable. It can get quite breezy so being able to control your shots can be a test.  Plus watch out for the greens with their contours as they can get very slick and be a challenge for even the best putters.
