Millbrook Remarkables

Millbrook Resort's Remarkables Course in Arrowtown, Queenstown, is a must-play destination for golfers seeking a blend of challenging play and breathtaking alpine scenery. Nestled at the foot of the Remarkables mountain range, this 18-hole championship course offers a golfing experience that is both visually stunning and strategically engaging.

Designed by John Darby and Bob Charles, the Remarkables Course opened in 1992 and has since become a staple in New Zealand's golfing landscape and has been part of the New Zealand Open since2015.  Together with its sister course, Millbrook Coronet, the two golf courses combine to make a great host of the New Zealand Open.  The iconic par-3, 18^thHole, is a great closing hole for the tournament with lots of challenges facing the golfers as they finish their round!

The layout features a mix of elevated tee shots, strategically placed bunkers, and water hazards that require thoughtful shot-making.  Starting with par-5, 1^stHole playing straight away through a gap to an exposed green, you then play amid-length but testing par 3 straight uphill. Standing on the 3^rd Tee you are presented with a grand vista across most of the golf course and the Millbrook resort area.  It is absolutely stunning!

The course's design takes full advantage of the natural terrain, with minimal earthmoving, allowing the landscape to dictate the flow of play.  Strategically placed bunkers or water hazards present a classic risk-reward challenge.  No two holes play the same. Golfers experience a mix of par-3’s, par-4’s, and challenging par-5’s, each with unique hazards and angles of approach. This keeps the round mentally engaging from start to finish.

The course flows and the two distinct nines provide golfers of all abilities the opportunity to enjoy playing in this incredible landscape.  The Remarkables Course is known for its fast, true greens and fine turf quality, providing a premium playing surface. The course's elevation changes and panoramic views of the Crown Range and Arrow River Valley add to the challenge and beauty of the round. Golfers can expect a memorable experience with each hole offering unique challenges and picturesque vistas.
