Te Arai Links South

Te Arai Links South is located 90-minutes North of Auckland on the east coast along the stunning Te Arai coastline.  This course debuted in the world’s Top 100golf courses and has only improved with age. Designed by the renowned duo, Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw, the South Course opened in October 2022.  The course offers a golfing experience that seamlessly blends natural beauty with exceptional design.  

The course has some undulation, but it is a traditional walking links layout, spread across 36 hectares (90 acres) of rolling sand dunes, offering panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean from every hole.  Coore and Crenshaw were minimalists with their design, so many of the holes harmonize with the natural landscape, providing a challenging yet enjoyable experience for golfers of all skill levels.

The course plays in two distinct nines, with the first par-5hole playing uphill to a fairway, at times close to 100 yards wide.  The next two holes go inland before you stand on the high plateau of the 4^th hole and are in awe of the view in front of you.  You then weave back along the coastline to the 9^th green. The back nine play in the opposite direction; and you head out and back with some challenging holes, especially the short par-4, 16^th hole and the 110 metre par-3,17^th hole.  Finally, the 500-metre 18^th hole presents a lovely risk-rewardpar-5 to finish; where the coastal breeze will be a real factor.
